Hey B! You’re just a baby now, but one day you’ll be reading this. So, I just wanted to let you know what your life looks like today.
*disclaimer* my first intention for this blog was for a generic “family/lifestyle/recipe” blog. I’ve since changed my mind which I’ve described in another post. So, I’m rewriting this introduction page.
Here’s a little memento I’m glad I captured. I wasn’t sure why I’d need a picture of something like this, but I’m glad I saved it! I remember it was a Friday. Your dad was still asleep in the bed. After that word “pregnant” popped up I was estatic. I have always wanted you. I couldn’t wait to start our journey together. And for me, that journey began that day. You probably had just attached to my uterine wall, but you were there. Finally.
Like I said, your dad was still in the bed asleep. I, of course, woke him up to tell him, and he didn’t believe me. I had to repeat myself at least five more times.
Here we are together still in the hospital. You still sleep on me like that today. You’re always so at peace.
A little about me today. I’m 26; I waited a long time for you, and you’re perfect. I just recently became unemployed from my job of five years (which is pretty good for my age and this economy) to stay home with you. I wish I could stay home with you forever. But hopefully you’ll start college one day. Speaking of college, I have a bachelor’s degree, and I’m the first one in my family to get one. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite tv show is Roseanne.
Here’s the first picture of you and your dad!
Your dad is also 26 years old. He works very hard to provide for us and take care of us that allows me to stay home with you. In his free time he loves to lift weights. He’s been doing that since about 2008 or 2009, I think. We started dating in 2007 and got married in 2012.
